The Busy Mom's Nutritious Iced Coffee
I love iced coffees, coffee ice cream, frappuccinos (Starbucks - the little ones in the bottles at the grocery store), Mocha Frappes (McDonalds) and Cappuccino Blasts (Baskin Robbins) are my all-time favorite. The reality is that as a stay at home mom, I don't jump out of bed and rush to any of these places to buy a fancy iced coffee drink, so I've come up with my own little recipe that not only includes a little caffeine, a little chocolate but also an unexpected ingredient to add some nutritional value.
Here's what you'll need:
1/2 cup ice (I prefer crushed)
1/2 cup milk
1 Tbsp of chocolate syrup (optional)
1/2 a bottle of Starbucks Frappuccino (the ones you find in a grocery store. I use the Aldi brand.)
> For those of you who need more caffeine, use the whole bottle
1 pack of Carnation Instant Breakfast milk chocolate flavored powder (or 1 serving size if you buy a large container like I do.)
It's as easy as you might imagine:
1. Put your crushed ice in a large cup
2. Pour in milk
3. Mix in chocolate syrup
4. Mix in Carnation Instant Breakfast - Milk Chocolate Flavored
5. Stir in Frappuccino
If you want it to look fancy, top it with whipped topping, a little drizzle of chocolate syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
See, now you're not going to miss that expensive and fancy iced coffee from your favorite place. You're getting a good, quick and yummy replica at home in no time and with a little something nutritious added! :-)
