Beef Tips in Mushroom Gravy for the Crock Pot or Oven!

If you like a nice comforting meal that tastes great and is super easy, this is definitely it! I especially enjoy this on gray dreary days! It's so easy to throw this one together and it works well for the crock pot or the oven. Most people that I know that do this kind of recipe use dry onion soup mix, but I tend to enjoy the flavor of the french onion soup instead. I hope you enjoy it as well!

Here's what you need:

1.5-2.5 lbs beef tips
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can french onion soup (Please don't use the dry onion soup mix. :-)
1 can sliced mushrooms (or you can use a small box of fresh sliced mushrooms too)
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce (approximate)

Now put your meat in the crock pot. (If you're going to cook this in the oven, preheat to 375 and layer the ingredients in a 9x13 baking dish.)

Add mushrooms

Pour Cream of Mushroom Soup over the top

Pour French Onion Soup over that.

Pour in approximately 1 Tbsp of Worcestershire Sauce.

Now stir it all together.

If you're following along and going to cook this in your crock pot, cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8. If you can remember, stir it half way through the cook time. If you're going to cook this in your oven, then give it approximately 45 minutes at 375.

And here's what you get...

I like to serve mine over egg noodles and with a nice colorful salad on the side.

    1. Thanks so much! Come back and visit again. I have a few more recipes to post over the next few days including 1 of my old favorite desserts (3 ingredient chocolate mousse pie) and one of my new favorite side dishes (roasted butternut squash). :-)

  2. I wish I could make this, but I don't know what to use in place of the French Onion Soup. The commissary doesn't have that. :-P

    1. Lauren, in the past I've used beef broth and sliced an onion and dropped it in the crock pot to substitute for French Onion Soup. It definitely gives a similar flavor. You can try that for the next 2 months. :-D (Yay! 2 Months!!!)
